About the role
This role is a Great Places funded position, initially for 1 year, to deliver high quality advice and support via one to one advice appointments to clients who are in, or at risk of, poverty, and who live within the Longridge locality in Knutsford. Additionally, the post-holder will promote the service, engage with service users, and other people in the locality.
Clients will often be vulnerable and may be struggling to pay their bills.
With the aim of improving clients’ standard of living, you will deliver advice and casework on a wide range of issues such as benefits, debt, housing, employment, family and immigration. This will include interviewing and assisting clients with in-depth benefit checks, applications and form completion, budgeting advice and money management; and negotiating with third parties.
This role will include casework where the adviser advocates for the client – for example including assisting in preparing benefit claims and appeals; advocating on behalf of clients with employers and landlords.
Ideally you will be able to deliver debt advice adhering to Financial Conduct Authority standards.
As well as a personable and empathetic manner, the post holder will need to be very well organised and able to respond to changing demands on their time.
If you have advice experience, are passionate about supporting individuals and families in need and interested in joining a dedicated, professional team, we would love to hear from you.
