OISC warnings
This advice applies to England. See advice for See advice for Northern Ireland, See advice for Scotland, See advice for Wales
If you're working on immigration content, you might need to add or edit an OISC (Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner) warning. This tells advisers what advice they're allowed to give. Ask an immigration expert if you're not sure.
The 'OISC warning' field is a few fields after the 'Body' field of an advice collection. If you add an OISC warning, it will appear on both the public site and Advisernet versions of the page - but only for advisers.

To add an OISC warning, click 'Add content' to open a drop down menu. You can choose to add an existing warning, or create a new one.

If you choose to add an existing OISC warning, this will open the ‘Add existing entry’ box. You can search for the name of the warning by typing in the search bar.
The OISC warning should appear in the list beneath the search bar. Click on it to add it.

Editing an existing OISC warning
If the advice collection already has an OISC warning, you can click on it to edit it.

The content of the OISC warning
You can add content or make changes in the OISC warning's fields.
OISC title
This acts as the overall heading for the OISC warning. People will also be able to search for the OISC warning by name in Contentful.

Level
Check with an immigration expert what level the OISC warning should be.

Body
This is where you add and edit the contents of the OISC warning.

Version information
This is where you explain what changes you're making. If you're changing existing content, delete anything that's already in the field first.

Try to write the version information so it will make sense to someone who looks at it later without knowing the context. For example:
say if it's a new OISC warning, or briefly explain what changes you've made
if the work is part of a project, include the project name
if the change is a maintenance update, include a link to the maintenance Trello ticket
Publishing an OISC warning
To publish the OISC warning, click the 'Publish' button on the right of the screen.

If it's a new OISC warning, you'll also need to publish the changes to the advice collection it will appear on.
Find out about other ways to publish content items, including scheduling publication and publishing an advice collection and entries at the same time.
At the moment, you must tell the Content Platform team every time you make a change to the content in Contentful. This lets them make the same change in EPiServer. Tell the Content Platform team about changes using the request form.
