Extra help to cut energy bills

27 Ionawr 2014

Citizens Advice will launch Big Energy Saving Week Big Energy Saving Week to help consumers to take immediate action to cut their bills. The help comes as the Department of Energy and Climate Change publishes the Community Energy Strategy, which could help consumers to take control of their bills in the long term.

Gillian Guy, Chief Executive of national charity Citizens Advice, said:

"The Community Energy Fund could help consumers who want to take action to cut their bills in the long-term. Some people will be keen to take control of their bills without having to rely solely on energy firms, particularly as wholesale and transport costs continue to rise.

"Many households are looking for ways to save money on their energy bills now. This week, we're running Big Energy Saving Week to give people practical advice on how to cut their bills.

"At Citizens Advice, we want people to know that there is immediate action they can take, which is why we're helping people to check, switch and insulate, which could help them make significant savings."
