Citizens Advice responds to FT's interview with FCA Head, Martin Wheatley

Gillian Guy, Chief Executive at national charity Citizens Advice said: “We welcome Martin Wheatley’s plans to look at things from a consumer perspective when he reshapes UK financial regulation.

People come to Citizens Advice with many problems involving financial products and services, including mis-selling and unfair treatment. We need the FCA to work hard at stopping these problems by making sure firms consistently look out for the interests of all their customers.

In 2010/11 we helped 550,000 people with over two million debt problems – the largest proportion of which concerned consumer credit."
