Citizens Advice Woking is a busy local office helping more than 6,000 people every year, and a third of all enquiries are related to welfare benefits issues. We are looking for a highly motivated person to join our Welfare Benefits Team, who has recent experience of advising clients. You will need to demonstrate that you can cope with a demanding caseload and that you are able to monitor and manage your own caseload to meet deadlines.

The successful candidate will be required to provide casework on the full range of welfare benefits areas, including Universal Credit and disability benefits. We are looking for a motivated team player who is passionate about giving an effective service to those most in need. We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills, both written and verbal.

A commitment to the Aims and Principles of the Citizens Advice Service is essential, but whilst experience of working within Citizens Advice would be desirable, we will happily support the right person through Citizens Advice accredited training to enable them to carry out the role.

The Citizens Advice service values diversity promotes equality and challenges discrimination. We encourage and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. We particularly welcome applications from disabled and Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic people, as they are currently underrepresented in our workforce

Every local Citizens Advice is a registered charity. Different application procedures are adopted by individual local Citizens Advice. Contact the relevant one as outlined in the information about this role. You should not send an application form to national Citizens Advice.

All local Citizens Advice produce their own annual report, but you can find out more about the Citizens Advice network or download the latest national Citizens Advice annual report.
